Snowflakes in the air, Christmas songs blasting on the radio and the coldest weekend that I can remember for a long time, it’s that time of year again. The streets look magical as the beautiful Christmas lights take centre stage once more and we crave for that nostalgic feeling again, one we didn’t get to fully enjoy a year ago. This year promised so much more, a hope of actually seeing loved ones and shaking off the pandemic fears. But it still feels subdued: hybrid working, Black Friday moving more online, tube strikes making travelling even less enticing and now the latest covid Christmas special. Whilst it can be bittersweet, it is time to remind ourselves of everything we love about this time of year: those delicious mulled drinks in markets, minty hot chocolates, festive exhibitions, pretty shop windows and most importantly, winding down from work and spending quality time with family and friends.
